About Us
Horizon Opticians is a totally independent optician in Leicester, established in 2006.
Our eyes deserve the best. Everyone is entitled to the best
eyecare.
Our motto is 'see beyond' because we don't just provide spectacles. We
are here to help improve the ocular health of our patients and the
public, so everyone can see beyond.
Founder Bhavin Thanki, born in Leicester, studied Optometry at UMIST (now University of Manchester). Practical experience was gained at the Royal Victoria Infirmary hospital,
Newcastle upon Tyne, followed by work in community practice too. After completing his Master of Optometry degree in
Manchester, he gained professional registration with the General Optical Council and the British College of Optometrists in 2000. Bhavin then went on to work for a large optical chain
for over 5 years.
Bhavin felt that opticans were either expensive with good service, or
had poor service with reasonable prices, or were simply old fashioned
and outdated. Frustrated by what was on offer, he went on to create
Horizon Opticians in Leicester's Aylestone area.
Our staff have over 10 years optical experience, are friendly and are
extremely knowledgeable. If you are looking for an expert in eyes,
vision and glasses, then look no further than Horizon Opticans. We provide eye tests (NHS and private), glasses and contact lenses.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
Our Vision
To promote and provide the highest standards of eyecare in order to improve and maintain good eyesight and ocular health.
